Alright mate, I have a website that is still in the early days but we have good info and reviews, We are a group of lads that play games together, So just the same as you, but we have access to games before release and contacts. For player based reviews and info on games in more detail then any guide. www.GameFAQS.com which is in partnership with www.gamespot.com but gamespots reviews are paid which means bribery usually.
For movie and other types of information regarding the actors or tv shows you want www.imdb.com it is the internet movie database and has tons of information peer reviews etc.
